Your Wedding Glow Guide: How to Get a Flawless Tan for the Big Day

There’s a certain kind of glow that comes with celebrating love—and I’m not just talking about the one from a spray tan. But let’s be honest: when you’re standing in front of a camera, a crowd, or your forever person, feeling confident in your skin matters.

At Evergreen Sunless, I work with people preparing for some of the biggest moments of their lives. And while the dresses, suits, makeup, and flowers are all part of the magic, your skin is what ties it all together. That sun-kissed, even-toned glow that makes you look radiant without looking overdone? That’s where I come in.

Whether you’re getting married, part of the wedding party, or just want to show up to the celebration feeling like your most confident self, here’s everything I wish you knew about spray tanning for your wedding.

Let’s Start with the Glow Game Plan

The secret to a perfect wedding tan? Planning ahead. The more time we have to test your shade, dial in your prep routine, and make sure you love how it wears, the more confident you’ll feel walking into the big day.

That’s why I always recommend a trial tan about 3–4 weeks out from the wedding. This gives us time to customize your glow, test how it looks in different lighting (hello, camera flashes), and fine-tune anything before the final appointment.

Once we’ve nailed the tone, here’s how the rest of your glow timeline should look:

Your Bridal Spray Tan Timeline

  • 4+ weeks out: Book your Bridal Glow Package to secure your preferred times.

  • 3–4 weeks out: Get your trial tan and start your hydration game.

  • 1 week out: Keep moisturizing (oil-free!), and gently exfoliate 24–48 hours before your tan.

  • 2–3 days before the wedding: Your final tan—the one that gets all the glory.

  • Wedding day: Radiate confidence with a tan that looks natural, smooth, and camera-ready.

Now Let’s Talk About Wedding Week

You’re likely juggling hair appointments, nail touch-ups, maybe a wax or facial—and it can feel like a lot. To help you avoid any last-minute skin freak-outs or timing conflicts, here’s the order I recommend for your beauty appointments:

Week of Wedding: Beauty Schedule

  • Nails (manicure + pedicure): Book these 24–48 hours before your spray tan. That way, nothing interferes with color on your hands or feet.

  • Facials: If you’re getting a treatment, schedule it at least five days out. Skip anything aggressive (think peels or harsh exfoliants) to avoid messing with tan absorption.

  • Waxing/Sugaring: Also best done 24–48 hours before your tan. Your skin needs time to calm down before we apply the solution.

  • Spray Tan: This should be the final beauty service before the big day—no lotion, makeup, or deodorant on the day of. Just clean, exfoliated, makeup-free skin ready to glow.

Don’t Forget the Crew

This isn’t just your day—your people want to feel their best too. Whether it’s your partner, your besties, or your mom, group spray tans are such a fun way to prep together and make everyone feel photo-ready. I offer customizable packages for duos and groups (and yes, I travel!).

A Quick Word on Prep and Aftercare

Your spray tan results are only as good as your prep. In the days leading up to your appointment, hydrate like it’s your job and exfoliate gently with a mitt (no scrubs, no oils). Skip the lotions, perfumes, and deodorants on the day of your tan, and follow the rinse instructions I give you to a T.

After your first rinse, moisturize daily with an oil-free lotion to help extend the life of your glow—and avoid anything that exfoliates or strips your skin.
